Wanstead Park Walk - Sunday 17 Feb 2013

The Friends of Wanstead Parklands are leading a walk around Wanstead Park on Sunday (17 February) and will take participants on a stroll around some of the surviving historic features of this once famous landscaped garden.

Starting at 11am at the car park in the Warren Road entrance, the walk will be the first in a series of five over the course of the year which will each focus on different aspects of the park’s history and ecology. The walk will last a little over an hour and will end at The Temple. Now housing a visitor centre and gift shop, the Temple is open every weekend. It was originally built around 1760 by John, 2nd Earl Tylney of Castlemaine.

The walks are free, but donations to the group are welcome. As paths may be muddy, suitable footwear is advised.

NOTES
