Forest Farm Peace Garden
An interactive gathering for environmental groups in east London
Join us with permaculture teachers Graham Burnett and Glenn van Lint to celebrate the arrival of spring (finally!) at Forest Farm with a day of practical skill-sharing outdoors. We will try out cleft grafting, charcoal making and cob building, all using plants and materials gathered from our 5-acre site. There will also be a chance to have a guided tour of the site, meet visitors from other environmental projects in East London, and cook and share soup around our open fire.
There are a lot of interesting environmental initiatives in the area, and this event aims to bring some of them together so we can develop the network a bit more. If you live, work or study in east London and are interested in the environment, or are involved in sustainability projects in the area- this event is for you!
This event is Free of charge but RSVPs are necessary as places are limited.

On the Cob Building: we need some help!
We’re very excited about our plans to build a cob oven at the community garden so we can make even more delicious food with the organic veg we grow on site (did someone say pizza?!)
We love local, so we’re using the clay subsoil from the Garden as the primary building material, but we also need a few other ingredients:
- sharp sand
- old bricks or cobblestones
- old (empty) wine bottles
- rough-cut sawdust
If you are able to help us scavenge some of these materials to recycle as much as possible as well as keeping costs down, we’d be very grateful. Please get in touch with
natalie@forestfarmpeacegarden.org if you have any suggestions or offers. Thank you!
