29 Sep 2015: Local Forum - Wanstead

Redbridge Local Forum
Tuesday 29 September 2015
6pm to 8:45pm
Wanstead House Community Association,
The Green, Wanstead, E11 2NT

These forums are the new community engagement meetings which replace Area Committees. There is no formal agenda.

· Problems in your local area?
· Want to get involved to change things?

Come to a Local Forum and talk to us about ideas and issues in your local area. Raise questions and concerns about Council services that affect you.

Local Forum meetings will be held every month at venues across the Borough.
There will be two parts to each Local Forum: a Market Place and a Question Time. Most Local Forums will be held in the evening and occasionally some will be held in the day.

Market Place (6-7pm)
The first part of the Local Forum is the Market Place. You can browse stalls staffed by Council officers and Councillors to discuss issues that affect you, including planning, litter, parking, benefits and housing.
Partners including the Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Liberty Credit Union, HealthWatch and local voluntary sector groups will also be at the Market Place.

Question Time - 7:15pm
The Market Place will be followed by a more formal Question Time, where you can put questions to Councillors and senior Council officers. Questions can be submitted in advance using the form at www.redbridge.gov.uk/localforums or asked on the night.

9 Sep 2015: Finding Peace in a War-torn World? - Women's Interfaith Forum

For those using a text reader:

WOMEN’S INTERFAITH AFTERNOON- “Finding Peace in a War-torn World?”

Wednesday 9th September 2015, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

The Vine Church, Riches Road, Ilford IG1 1JH

Interfaith women workshops are held to enable women of all ages and from different faith backgrounds to meet together and discuss topics that really matter to them. At each of our workshops we ask a different faith community to briefly share their thoughts on the chosen topic. At this workshop, a representative from the Baha’i Faith will talk about peace and spirituality from a Baha’i perspective. Followed by a group discussion on “Finding Peace in a War-torn World?”

There is increasing in turmoil in the World, with events that seem, day by day, to encroach on our personal and family space. How can we create that spiritual balance that is so important for ourselves, our families and the world around us?

v What does peace look like?
v How can we achieve it?
v Do peace and spirituality go hand in hand?
v How do we find and maintain our own peace and spirituality?
v When we connect to the silence within, does it help to make sense of the disturbance and chaos going on?
v How important is the role of a woman in the peace process?

Please come and share your views and insights on some of these important questions. Our workshops are informal and everyone has the opportunity to contribute in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

There will be Cream Teas to help us with the discussion

A voluntary donation to support the work of RFF would be appreciated

We hope to see you all there.

For more information, and to book your FREE place contact:
