Public Consultation and Exhibition
Thursday 25 February 2016
12:30pm - 8:30pm
Redbridge Football Club, Station Road, IG6 1NB
(There is disabled access and facilities plus adequate parking)

As you may be aware, Brett Tarmac Ltd has been extracting and processing sand and gravel at Fairlop quarry for many years. They are now moving towards submitting a planning application for the final stages of the site – which will be Phases E and F. Further details are included in the brochure here.

The event is aimed at residents local to Aldborough Hatch and Fairlop in general to advise them of the proposals, to assist in understanding the proposals, answering any queries and receiving feedback.

If you have a particular interest in the quarry and the proposed extensions, there will be a preview of the display boards in the Football Club House. These will be in hourly slots on Wednesday 24th February at 4, 5, 6 and 7pm and on Thursday 25th at 9 and 10am. At the preview event the Brett team will be available to take you through the displays and discuss any areas of interest that you may have.

If you would like to take up this opportunity, please let them know your first and second choice of slot, so they can allocate accordingly. Please reply to the email address fairlop.information@tarmac.com or alternatively telephone 01206 332277 (24 hour answerphone).

This public exhibition is just the first stage in a lengthy consultation process and there will be many other opportunities to discuss the proposals.

24 Feb 2016: Introduction to Permaculture and People Care

Wednesday, 24th February
11am-1pm
Forest Farm Peace Garden
Find us here.
Free

Come along for our open morning event, look around and enjoy our free workshop on "Permaculture and People-Care" with educator Ros Bedlow!
A natural system, like a woodland, keeps itself going. It doesn’t need weeding, or fertiliser. How does it do that, and can we learn from it? Can we work with nature to create truly sustainable systems?
The principles of permaculture can help you design your garden, or your balcony. But the lessons we learn from nature can also be applied to people: how we relate to each other and work together.
The workshop will introduce you to the basics of permaculture, and to some ideas about how you could apply it in your daily life and work.

If you would like to book a place at the workshop please e-mail
sarah-jane@forestfarmpeacegarden.org

Come to a Local Forum and talk to us about ideas and issues in your local area. Raise questions and concerns about Council services that affect you.

Local Forum meetings will be held every month at venues across the Borough.
There will be two parts to this Local Forum: a Market Place and a Question Time.

Market Place
The first part of the Local Forum is the Market Place. You can browse stalls staffed by Council officers and Councillors to discuss issues that affect you, including planning, litter, parking, benefits and housing.
Partners including the Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Liberty Credit Union, HealthWatch and local voluntary sector groups will also be at the Market Place.

Question Time
The Market Place will be followed by a more formal Question Time, where you can put questions to Councillors and senior Council officers. Questions can be submitted in advance using the form at www.redbridge.gov.uk/localforums or asked on the night.

15 Feb 2016: Redbridge Mobility Scheme - TfALL

Redbridge Mobility Scheme
Monday 15th February 2016 – 2-5pm
Fifth floor, Redbridge CVS, Forest House, 16-20 Clements Rd, Ilford IG1 1BA

The first Transport Action Group meeting of 2016 will be in two halves.
2.00pm: Plans to end Redbridge Mobility Scheme
3.30pm: Break
4.00pm: Plans for 2016. What speakers would you like to hear from? What actions would you like to take? What transport issues are most important to you?
5.00pm: Meeting ends

There’s no obligation to attend both halves of the meeting.

Redbridge Mobility Scheme: Redbridge Mobility Scheme is a door-to-door transport scheme. It makes 20,000 journeys a year and currently has 4,556 members. But Redbridge Council are planning to cut the scheme. They’ll make a decision at a Full Council meeting on 3rd March.

The council say that since Taxicard is available, there’s no need to fund both schemes. But the current Taxicard allowance is just one return journey a week. We are concerned about the impact that cutting the Mobility Scheme will have on disabled and older people’s ability to get out and about. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss our response to the proposed cuts, and tell councillors how the cut could affect us.

If you’re not able to attend, but you nevertheless have views on the proposed closure of Redbridge Mobility Scheme, you can contact Mark Santos, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care. You can email mark.santos@redbridge.gov.uk; phone 020 8708 2099; or write to:
Mark Santos
c/o Members' Services
Town Hall, Ilford
Essex, IG1 1DD

On the 9th February, there will be a Cabinet Meeting where Redbridge Mobility Scheme will be discussed, with the opportunity to speak, if requested in advance. It would be powerful if Mobility Scheme members were able to attend and speak about how ending the scheme would affect them. If you would like to attend with other Transport Action Group members, please phone Jon Abrams on 020 8925 2435 or email jon@redbridgeconcern.org.

Redbridge CVS is an accessible venue, but should you have specific requirements, for example, a speech–to–text or a signer, please contact Transport for All by the end of January.

Please let us know you are coming by calling Transport for All on 020 7737 2339 or email lianna@transportforall.org.uk. Refreshments will be provided. Redbridge CVS is a short walk from Ilford Station (no stepfree access…yet!) and is served by buses 25, 86, 123, 128, 145, 147, 150, 167, 169, 179, 296, 364, 366, 369, 396, 462, W19. Don’t hesitate to phone Transport for All if you’d like assistance planning a journey.
