    Come to a Local Forum and talk to us about ideas and issues in your local area. Raise questions and concerns about Council services that affect you.

    Local Forum meetings will be held every month at venues across the Borough.
    There will be two parts to this Local Forum: a Market Place and a Question Time.

    Market Place
    The first part of the Local Forum is the Market Place. You can browse stalls staffed by Council officers and Councillors to discuss issues that affect you, including planning, litter, parking, benefits and housing.
    Partners including the Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Liberty Credit Union, HealthWatch and local voluntary sector groups will also be at the Market Place.

    Question Time
    The Market Place will be followed by a more formal Question Time, where you can put questions to Councillors and senior Council officers. Questions can be submitted in advance using the form at www.redbridge.gov.uk/localforums or asked on the night.

    This year's Redbridge Multi-faith Walk of Peace 
    takes place in central Ilford on
    Sunday afternoon 23rd October 2016 

    Come and join Redbridge Faith Forum's Multi-faith Walk to visit different faith venues and hear what we can each do to make the world a more peaceful place. You are welcome to join in the whole walk or join/leave at any point. Timings are as follows:

    1.15pm Meet at the Buddhist Vihara at 9 Balfour Road IG1 4HP– refreshments available. (Shoes to be removed if entering the prayer room). Talk at 1.25pm

    1.45 pm Depart Vihara to continue Walk

    1.55 pm Arrive at the Hindu Temple, 43 Cleveland Road IG1 1EE. (Shoes to be removed when entering temple). Talk at 2 pm

    2.15 pm Depart Temple to continue Walk

    2.20 pm Arrive at Ilford Islamic Community Centre for presentations from The Jewish & Muslim Communities 52-56 Albert Road IG1 1HW – refreshments available. There will be an opportunity to visit the Mosque for which shoes to be removed & women required to cover heads.

    3.00 pm Depart Community Centre to continue Walk

    3.10 pm Arrive at Vine United Reform Church, Riches Road, IG1 1JH. Talk at 3.15pm

    3.45 pm Depart Church to continue Walk.

    4.00 pm Arrive at Karamsar Gurdwara, 400 High Road IG1 1TW (Shoes to be removed & men & women will be required to cover heads - head coverings supplied if necessary).

    Join the Local Food Revolution! Want to grow food that tastes better, produces bigger harvests, and is better for the environment? Learn how through the Audacious Veg ‘Grow like a Pro’ course taught by expert growers from the Audacious Veg Team.

    You can pick and choose which sessions you attend and “pay as you go”, or you can book yourself for the whole course (and get a discount if you pay in advance!)

    The trainings are perfect for you if you’re a complete novice, or if you have a season or two of food growing under your belt but want to gain a thorough knowledge of ecologically responsible growing techniques to maximise harvest and flavour. The sessions are skills-based and hands-on, and you’ll get handouts to take home and use.

    Redbridge Equalities & Community Council invite you to a 
    Public Meeting about Hate Crime on:
    Thursday 13th October 2016
    Gloucester Room, Ilford Central Library, Clements Road

    This is during National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
    Hate Crime is driven by prejudice against different groups of people. There will be speakers talking about hate crimes targeting race, religions, sexuality and disabilities a and a speaker from Harlow where there have been very serious incidents including a murder.

    Speakers include the Secretary of Harlow Trades Council, A Polish organisations called RAZEM; which means Together, Muslim Engagement & Development (MEND), Redbridge Concern for Mental Health about disability hate crime, Redbridge Rainbow Community about homophobic and transphobic attacks and Redbridge Equalities & Community Council.

    Unfortunately our advertised speaker has had to cancel at short notice but luckily Peter Dalby, an experienced local beekeeper from Pebadale Apiaries, has agreed to step into the breach! He enjoys passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm and will talk about general bee keeping, bees and their current problems and threats.

    He will bring some of his products to the talk so you will have the opportunity to buy some or win some honey in the raffle!

    'Abundance Day’ is our annual event celebrating the harvest time in the garden. The programme this year will include live music played by local charity ‘The Redbridge Music Lounge’ and demonstrations of foraging and fermented food making. London Borough of Redbridge Recycling Team will run ‘Give and Take’ stall with free books, clothes and bric-a-brac. There will be ‘pick your apples and take them home’ activity, introducing the participants to many varieties of apples growing in the garden.

    Recycle Ilford, a social enterprise bike recycling project will provide Dr Bike workshop. All attendees are invited to bring their bikes for a free maintenance check and repairs.

    There will be a range of activities for children such as; natural messy play for under 5s, ‘veggie creatures’ crafts activity and face painting. There will be an organic plants and honey for sale, as well as freshly pressed apple juice. Also, freshly cooked soup and range of delicious foods prepared in our outdoors Cob Oven Kitchen by Forest Farm Peace Garden community of volunteers! Put the date in your diary!

    A feast of musical pleasures will be provided by many high quality musicians and singers from in and around Redbridge, mixing folk and jazz, soft rock and classical, pop and country, and everything around and in between!

    A limited amount of seating will be available but you may wish to bring your own chairs or picnic blankets.
