28 Sep 2017: Bat Walks in Redbridge Parks

September’s nearly upon us, the nights are drawing in which means it’s time for our annual programme of bat walks. It’s a great way to learn all about these marvellous little animals, which have unfairly gained a bad reputation. Rather than sucking blood did you know that all British bats eat insects? One of our most common bats, a pipistrelle, can eat over 3000 mosquitoes in one night!

During the walks you’ll get a chance to use our bat detectors so you can hear the bats echo-locate. We’re normally lucky enough to spot them feeding around the park lakes too. Walks last around 1 hour and cost £3 per person. Suitable for 7 years+.

Booking essential as places are limited, meeting point will be given at time of booking. Contact details below.
