28 Jan 2018: Mayor's Appeal - Burns Night


Join the Mayor of Redbridge and her appeal committee to celebrate the life and poetry of Scotland’s national poet, Robbie Burns, at our Burns Night on
Sunday 28th January 
at Ilford Golf Club, 291 Wanstead Park Rd, Ilford IG1 3TR


Arrival time is 7.00 p.m. for a prompt 7.30 start

Tickets are £35 and include:

Three course traditional Scottish meal (see below for details – vegetarian option available with prior notice)
Live Ceilidh band complete with a Caller to demonstrate the dance steps
Traditional piper to bring in the haggis
Wee dram of whisky

A licensed bar is available.

For anyone who has not attended a Burns Night before, this is a fantastic experience and a great evening of entertainment. For those of you have been to a Burns Night before, you will already know what fun it is!

All proceeds go to the Mayor's chosen charities, Haven House and St Francis Hospice.

  • Cock-a-leekie soup, served with fresh bread selection
Mains
  • Traditional Scottish haggis, served with a whiskey jus
  • Creamed potatoes
  • Bashed neeps
or
  • Poached Scottish salmon, served with a creamy whiskey jus, on a bed of crushed neeps
Dessert
  • Cranachan, served with fresh berries
  • Selection of Scottish cheese
  • A tassie o’tea or coffee & mints
